Grants & Funding

There are loads of ways to get cash to fund your music projects. Here are some of the best ones but we will update this section with more as we find them.

Slice The Pie

Slicethepie is a financing platform for the music industry that enables new and established Artists to raise money directly from Music Fans and Investors.

On Slicethepie, Music Fans take on the A&R role, earning money reviewing tracks, spotting new talent and ensuring the best Artists get put forward for financing.

Music Fans can then directly invest in the Artists in return for exclusive Artist access, a copy of the completed album, their name on the album sleeve and a decent share in the financial returns from album and single sales.

Investors (non-US only) can trade in and out of their Artist Investments at any time on the world’s first Music Trading Exchange, also hosted on the site.

SellaBand

SellaBand encourages aspiring artists and music lovers to go into business together and aims to level the playing field of the global music industry.

Anyone can invest in a SellaBand artist or band and once they have achieved the required amount of investment, investors receive a limited edition copy of the album. On top of that, the artists and their fans share equally in the revenues of the album. To date 30 Artists from 13 different countries have raised the full $50,000 and over $2,500,000 has been invested in unsigned artists.

It is definitely worth giving it a go as you really do have nothing to lose.

Pledge Music

This is the newest entrant into the fan-funded arena. They allow you to set the target for how much you need to raise for your project and then incentivise the potential fans with merchandise, gig tickets and cds. They also let the artists keep all rights to their material.
